why do oxygen molecules enter a cell at a different rate than protein molecules?
I am trying to study for a bio test tomorrow and I just cant seem to find this answer in any of my notes. Any thoughts?
O2 is small molecule so it can pass through plasma membrane by simple diffusion, while protein(amino acid) is large molecule so it need carrier protein to across plasma membrane by active transport or facilitated diffusion.
