A Guide to Black Head Treatments

Blackheads are seen very commonly and it is a form of mild acne. It is seen as projections on the skin. They are actually black in color because they do not contain the pigment melanin in the areas affected. The internal health problems like indigestion, thyroid, constipation and anemia are also a cause of blackheads. Besides the conventional blackhead treatments like oral and topical applications and surgical practices, some other form of treatment can also be tried to cure the problem of blackheads.

The most commonly used treatments are metallic extractors that are used to plug the blackheads. These extractors are available in diverse patterns based on the rigorousness of blackheads. For instance, a lancet extractor is an instrument that contains two ends, one to make a hole and the other to remove the dirt. This type of an extractor is used often by the dermatologists. Other customized extractors are the double spoon extractor. In this type of extractor, one of its ends is shaped like a spoon, which is beneficial to plug out the large blackheads. It can be used safely by the beginners.

The most affected area with blackheads is the area around the nose. These blackheads are more painful as compared to the regular blackheads. Use of the blackhead removal strips is the most effective treatment for the removal of blackheads on the nose. In such nose strips, a specific kind of glue is used to shred the blackhead. You should clean your face gently and dry it thoroughly before using these blackhead removal strips. Then wet your face and apply the strip only for about ten minutes. Then pull the strip in just a single go with full force. After removing the blackheads, clean the face again using cold water. Over usage of these strips can lead of skin irritation.

Another blackhead treatment option is the vacuum blackhead remover. In this kind of treatment option, your skin is massaged and then a powerful vacuum is used for sucking away the blackhead through an instrument. This kind of treatment does not irritate or cause pain in the skin, as compared to the other treatment approaches. Nevertheless, this treatment is not established for curing the blackheads. It is also not effective on the stubborn blackheads.

The leading cosmetic companies have invented cleansing pads that contain about 2% of salicylic acid as blackhead treatments. These pads help to remove makeup dirt from the face and its regular use may prove to be efficient on the blackheads to some extent. Excessive use of cleansing pads that contain high amount of salicylic may make your skin dry. Some special treatments are offered in the salons. These are also the best way to get rid of the blackheads.

Most of the beauty salons offer treatment packages like steaming, blackheads extraction, application of the face masks to control the appearance of blackheads, etc. Treating your skin to these medications twice or thrice a week regularly can reduce the blackheads effectively. The benefit of this blackhead treatment is that it is cheaper as compared to other standard treatment options available and it is done by skilled professionals who have a great knowledge about different types of skin.  Finally do not overdo this treatment because it may result into after effects. Most importantly, avoid squeezing your blackheads because in the end it will cause blemishes which may be permanent.

Blackhead Treatment- The Best Way To Do It

Blackhead treatment is slightly different from the treatment of other types of pimples. Regular acne cleaning may not be helpful because in this case the affected area is not usually inflamed. This is unlike in other regular pimples where once you control the inflammation, the clogged pores can be cleared.

You can use a facial mask to treat this infection. In this treatment, you start by washing your face with a warm solution. This helps in opening the pores; you then apply the facial mask and leave it for sometime. When you eventually remove the facial mask, it will clear the excess oil and open the pores thereby removing the blackheads. You may add a follow-up lotion as a finishing technique. The lotion will help to tighten the pores.

Facial scrubs can also be used in treating this infection. Scrubs are used to treat this condition in both teens and adult acne. Facial scrubs normally contain granules that are used to exfoliate the skin. Scrubbing helps to get rid of dead skin cells. It also helps to unclog skin pores as well as remove any material that may be clogged inside.

Be careful when using facial scrubs because they can also cause skin irritation. Blackhead treatment can also involve the use of an extractor or a remover. The remover normally contains a sharp lancet that is used for piercing. Some removers come with a ringed device that is used to apply pressure at the affected area while others come with a fine loop that is used to provide the needed pressure. If you don’t treat blackheads, they can develop into cystic acne.
